Proxy Buyer is an innovative and unique service designed to reduce the level of online fraud, and safeguard international transactions made on our website - www.ghanaauction.com. Proxy Buyer acts on behalf of the local and international bidder in any item auction or direct purchase. This service acts as the item verifier, checking the authenticity of the item(s). We physically visit item location to examine the item listed for sale on the GhanaAuction.com and get detailed information for the buyer. This is to assist the buyer to make a confident and a good decision on the purchase of the item. Then, based on the buyer’s preferred option, we ship the item directly using an insured and trackable courier service [where applicable]— FedEx UPS etc

How it works
The Proxy Buyer service may be introduced into your transaction at any time during the bidding process or after you have won the bid. You may even introduce the service at a time when you have decided to purchase the item outright, without bidding.
If the Proxy Buyer service is introduced, we contact the seller in person, and physically verify the authenticity of the listed item and also check if the listed item is exactly as described on the website. If the item requires the service of a professional to do it, we acquire the service of professionals to do so. If the item is purchased, we then ship it to the buyer through an insured and trackable service.

At time of performing our duties as your Proxy Buyer, we

Take many images of the item from different angles and against different backgrounds, zooming in on items at several angles and dimensions to help you see the item as closely as you would see physically.

Take all possible measurements of the item—length, breadth, width, diameter, weight, volume etc. as applicable.

Perform a detailed descriptive analysis of the item..

Check on item quality and durability as advertised..

Checks for damages and cracks that are possibly hidden.

Look out for any adulteration of the item.

Respond to any special needs of the buyer that may be requested within the framework of the service agreement and as per applicable laws.

Prepare a comprehensive and detailed report on the item known as the "Proxy Report", which will be emailed to you, within an approximate period of 48 to 72 hours.

PROXY BUYER AGREEMENT This document is a legally binding contract between the user of this website (user, hereinafter) intending to bid on any product or service advertised by a third party on this site for auction or direct purchase and the operators of this website (GhanaAuction, hereinafter) Users of this website may request GhanaAuction to act as the proxy buyer on their behalf. As the proxy for the user, GhanaAuction acts as the item verifier in order to authenticate the correctness of the product description provided in the sale / auction listing on this website by the third party seller. GhanaAuction shall visit the location indicated in the sale or auction listing on behalf of the user and shall get detailed information from the buyer. The information provided by the seller shall be passed on to the user. GhanaAuction shall make every reasonable effort to match the information provided by the seller against the physical or other condition of the product on user's behalf. User accepts that as an intermediary and non-specialist proxy, GhanaAuction can not and does not provide any warranty or guarantee that the product being verified performs in accordance with the needs or desires of the user. GhanaAuction's role is only to verify the product's conformity to the description. Unless specifically required and thus agreed between user and GhanaAuction, GhanaAuction shall provide as many detailed photographs as possible of the product, physical measurements, a description of the condition or any patent flaws visible without technical analysis, volume etc. GhanaAuction shall also check on the quality and durability of the product as mentioned in the product listing by the seller. Any damage and / or cracks that are possibly hidden or any adulteration of the item shall also be checked. If, before or after the report of GhanaAuction you have any specific questions or queries, GhanaAuction shall respond to such queries that may be requested within the framework of the service agreement and as per applicable laws. The ultimate decision to buy or not to buy the product rests exclusively with the user and the information and opinion provided by GhanaAuction is merely in the form of additional inputs. GhanaAuction can not and therefore does not purport to verify the suitability of the product for any particular application or purpose. In case the user requires a professional or specific technical appraisal of the product or item, GhanaAuction shall arrange for a suitable professional or technical expert to assess the product. The report or appraisal of the expert or professional shall be passed on to the user and may be used by the user within the terms of reference specifically provided by the user or in the context of specific queries or requirements conveyed by the user to the professional or expert using GhanaAuction's proxy buyer program. The opinion or the appraisal provided by the expert of professional shall be passed on as it is to the buyer and any remedy that the buyer may have, as a result of any omission or inaccuracy in the report shall be available only against the named professional or expert. The user therefore agrees to indemnify and keep GhanaAuction blameless, free of all liability and indemnified against any damage, injury, loss or other consequence that GhanaAuction may be faced with. GhanaAuction shall prepare a comprehensive and detailed report on the item known as the "Proxy Report", which will be emailed to you, within an approximate period of 48 to 72 hours or such period as may be agreed to between the parties. In case the user opts to make a purchase or is successful as a bidder for any item listed on this website, using GhanaAuction's information as a helping tool but not as the sole basis for making such a decision, GhanaAuction shall provide further assistance by forwarding the purchased product to the user upon successful receipt of payment by the seller, via any accepted or agreed mode of dispatch including courier etc. We rely on FedEx and UPS since these are the best ways to ship an item and be able to track it. This service also insures the item so you do not really lose, in the event item gets destroyed or stolen in transit. If you prefer any other kind of shipping, we would require you to sign a waiver, which will free us of any involvement or responsibility in the event of the item getting lost or stolen. For all other shipping services, excluding FedEx and UPS, a waiver is required as part of the conditions to use our service. In case the user so desires, GhanaAuction can also arrange for insurance cover to cover the shipping process, at user's cost and expense. For the purpose of clarity, it is reiterated that items or products for which the proxy buyer service is available must have an international destination, and both the seller and the item must be located in Ghana. The item being sold must also be a legal item permitted for sale on GhanaAuction.com GhanaAuction will be under no duty to inquire into or investigate any agreement or communication between Buyer and Seller or any third party professional used for the proxy buyer program, even if uploaded to the Site. GhanaAuction may rely upon and will not be liable for acting or refraining from acting upon any written notice, instruction or request furnished to it hereunder and believed by it to be genuine and to have been signed or presented by the proper party or parties. GhanaAuction will be under no duty to inquire into or investigate the validity, accuracy or content of any such document. GhanaAuction will not be liable for anything done, suffered or omitted in good faith by it in accordance with the advice or opinion of any such counsel, accountants or other skilled persons. In the event that GhanaAuction is uncertain as to its duties or rights hereunder or receives instructions, claims or demands from any party hereto which, in its opinion, conflict with any of the provisions of these terms and conditions, it will be entitled to refrain from taking any action until it is directed otherwise in writing by Buyer and Seller or by a final order or judgment of an arbitrator or court of competent jurisdiction. This agreement is intended solely for the benefit of user and GhanaAuction, and their respective permitted successors and assigns, and no other person or entity swill have or acquire any right by virtue of this agreement unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Buyer, Seller, and GhanaAuction.
