GhanaAuction's Authentication program is a unique process that identifies / confirms a seller’s true existence and continuously monitor Authenticated / participating sellers on our auction and e-store platforms.

It is a process intended to protect online buyers against fraud and also offer buyers the confidence to shop online. It is also a process that helps increase the trust of both the online buyers and sellers. To start off, we perform an extensive background search on both the owner or the seller, and the business they run before we issue our Authentication seal. Then, throughout the lifetime of any participating member or seller, we continually monitor their legal existence and their activities. When authenticated, a trust recognition icon is provided on the seller’s profile. If the authentication process fails to go through at anytime, seller is notified to clear up issue within 48 hour else account will be suspended and authentication icon pulled off the profile. The program requires a monthly information update, and involves an unspecified number of unexpected spot checks on the seller. We only authenticate sellers with verifiable addresses, a physical location and working landline phones. This program is available only to sellers resident in Ghana. Information required for this process include your contact information, guarantors [documentation required] etc. If you are located in Ghana, let us authenticate your identification, and enjoy the trust of your customers to maximize your profit base.

Things to know about the Authentication program

Legal existence and ownership of offline retail store would be verified
You are required to update or provide us with your information as and when it changes. There is no fee for updates.
Random checks will be conducted through any of the contact information you have provided, including physical visitation to stores and or office.
Where a contact check is unsuccessful, the icon and recognition would be stripped within 48 hours
All basic information is posted on the site.
Where special / government / board license is required, the service will be suspended and the icon / recognition would be stripped if the license expires or is not renewed.

AUTHENTICATION PROGRAM AGREEMENT Parties This document is a legally binding contract between the user of this website (user, hereinafter) intending to obtain a seal identifying the user as an authenticated seller on this site, and the operators of this website (GhanaAuction, hereinafter) Purpose This is a business verification service. This authentication program is intended to verify and confirm the identity of a seller, and provide a summary of the verified information to the public. This is intended to provide some level and sense of security for users of our platform. It is also intended to attempt to reduce fraudulent activities, especially among those who sign up for this program. Authentication As part of this program, GhanaAuction shall provide those sellers successfully meeting the criterion set by GhanaAuction a pictorial seal which shall enable their potential buyers to have access to a summary of the information collated by GhanaAuction as part of this program. Authentication methodology In order to certify a seller as an authenticated and verified GhanaAuction seller, a background check shall be conducted on the applicant individual or company. GhanaAuction shall verify by all reasonable modes the existence of the applicantï¿½s physical business office, and verify that it is actively running. GhanaAuction shall also verify the telephone numbers provided by the applicant periodically and at random contact them to make sure it is still active. The phone numbers thus verified may only be conventional land lines and not internet telephony or cell phone lines. GhanaAuction shall check criminal records from the police and security forces in the Ghana and check on the applicantsï¿½ identity against government issued cards, driversï¿½ license, passport etc of the officers and managers running the business. In case the applicant provides references, their credentials and veracity of their testimonials shall also be verified by independently contacting them. GhanaAuction shall also check the applicantï¿½s business license and verify that all requisite filing mandated under the law for the time being in force are up to date and the applicant is authorized to conduct the activity which it intends to do. Failure to satisfy any of the requirements for information at any time during or even after the certification will result in a suspension of the citation and GhanaAuction will have the right to remove the citation from the applicant ï¿½ sellerï¿½s profile until the information has been successfully verified. Applicantï¿½s responsibility For the purpose of this program, the applicant grants GhanaAuction an unconditional and irrevocable mandate and authority to access the information it requires for this verification. The applicant shall also provide any assistance, including any clearances, counter-signature, documentation and records that GhanaAuction might need in order to complete its verification. Applicant shall also be liable to pay, as agreed to in advance, the prescribed fee for this program to GhanaAuction. The fee shall be due and payable regardless of whether or not the applicantï¿½s application for verification is successful or not. The applicant also undertakes to indemnify and keep GhanaAuction indemnified against any and all consequences of providing inaccurate, incorrect or false information of any nature, intentionally or otherwise, which may have had had the effect of affecting the verification conducted by GhanaAuction. In case of any suit, claim or liability against GhanaAuction arising out of, or as a consequence of the verification of the applicant, applicant shall assume sole responsibility, civil as well as criminal for such consequences or actions. Upon successful verification In case an applicant is successfully verified, GhanaAuction shall issue a pictorial citation to the applicant which can be displayed on the applicantï¿½s profile as a proof that the applicant / seller has been investigated by GhanaAuction on all issues marked on the citation, and that it is deemed safe to transact business with seller based on the information collected by GhanaAuction. The citation shall be subject to revocation at any time, at GhanaAuctionï¿½s sole discretion in case any material or information is brought to the attention of GhanaAuction that is adverse to the testimonial. GhanaAuction may also suspend the citation, certification or testimonial pending final decision of any dispute that any other user or a third party may bring against the applicant / seller. The citation may not be used as a guarantee - it is for informational purposes only. Program features GhanaAuction does not promise or guarantee anything. This is an informational service and it is up to users to use it at their own risk. User should exercise judgment and are encouraged to make their investigation. Information collected in the process shall be deemed to be public information unless specifically requested to be withheld by the applicant, and will be handed over to any court if requested for. Any information requested by the applicant to be kept confidential shall also be subject to the orders of any court of competent jurisdiction. Failure to pay subscription fee may result in suspension of account at the sole discretion of GhanaAuction and without the necessity of any notice To ensure the correctness of the applicant ï¿½ sellerï¿½s information, GhanaAuction may conduct during or even after the certification, impromptu and unexpected visitation, phone calls or contact through any appropriate means to the designated business offices. This could be at anytime of the working day and any working day of week during usual business hours. In case of any adverse information being received from any external source used by GhanaAuction, the certification may be denied, revoked or suspended at GhanaAuctionï¿½s sole discretion. GhanaAuction may share the gist of the adverse information with the applicant ï¿½ seller on specific request if such disclosure is not prohibited by any contractual or statutory provision. Applicant understands that mere application under this program can not guarantee certification of the applicant and that a refusal to certify or a subsequent cancellation or suspension shall not give any cause to the applicant to claim any damage or injury or grounds for any loss of reputation etc. Dispute Resolution Applicant ï¿½ Seller understands and accepts that this is a voluntary program and there is neither necessity nor compulsion for the applicant ï¿½ seller to request certification. Any claim or alleged breach of this agreement to be settled in Ghana in accordance with the relevant arbitration laws only. Any judgment reached in such arbitration shall be filed in the court having jurisdiction over the matter. The governing law of this contract shall be the laws of Ghana If any dispute arises out of this agreement or process, enforcement action subsequent judgments obtained as a result of this agreement, the prevailing party shall be entitled to all reasonable attorneys' fees and costs Failure of either party to insist upon strict compliance with any part of this agreement does not constitute a waiver of any other part of this Agreement, nor shall it constitute a waiver of any subsequent breach of the same term. Furthermore, any delay in seeking a remedy of any part of this Agreement shall not constitute of waiver of such rights or remedies under this Agreement. Term of this agreement This Agreement shall remain in force without a fixed termination date. However either party may terminate without the need to assign any reason upon thirty (30) days written notice. GhanaAuction may also terminate this agreement at any time if it is of the opinion that the citation or verification or certification is no longer in the interest of the users of this website. Such a determination by GhanaAuction shall not be subject to any review or appeal. GhanaAuction may rely upon and will not be liable for acting or refraining from acting upon any written notice, instruction or request furnished to it hereunder and believed by it to be genuine and to have been signed or presented by the proper party or parties. GhanaAuction will be under no duty to inquire into or investigate the validity, accuracy or content of any such document. GhanaAuction will not be liable for anything done, suffered or omitted in good faith by it in accordance with the advice or opinion of any such counsel, accountants or other skilled persons. In the event that GhanaAuction is uncertain as to its duties or rights hereunder or receives instructions, claims or demands from any party hereto which, in its opinion, conflict with any of the provisions of these terms and conditions, it will be entitled to refrain from taking any action until it is directed otherwise in writing by applicant or by a final order or judgment of an arbitrator or court of competent jurisdiction. This agreement is intended solely for the benefit of user and GhanaAuction, and their respective permitted successors and assigns, and no other person or entity will have or acquire any right by virtue of this agreement unless otherwise agreed to in writing by applicant and GhanaAuction.
